The Brief
The clients were looking for:
· A modern focal point for the living room
· Concealed storage for media equipment
· Integrated ambient lighting
· Cable management solutions
· A minimalist finish with clean lines

Most importantly, they wanted a media wall that felt purposeful and built-in, rather than simply mounting a television onto a blank wall.
Design Solution
The final design centred around a floating media cabinet, a wall-mounted television and a contemporary feature panel finished in a concrete-effect style. Warm LED lighting was incorporated throughout the installation to create depth and highlight the architectural elements.
To add texture and contrast, black vertical slatted panels were installed on one side of the feature wall. This simple detail gives the installation character while helping to visually frame the television area.
The overall colour palette combines soft grey tones, black accents and warm lighting, creating a balanced and sophisticated look.
Key Features
Floating Media Cabinet
A sleek floating cabinet was installed beneath the television, providing valuable storage without making the room feel cramped.

Challenges and Considerations
One of the biggest challenges was working around the wall-mounted air conditioning unit located directly above the television.
Rather than treating this as an obstacle, the design was developed to integrate naturally with the existing layout. The feature wall remains symmetrical and balanced, ensuring the air conditioning unit does not appear disconnected from the rest of the installation.
Cable management was another key consideration. Wiring for the television, sound system and lighting was concealed within the structure wherever possible, resulting in a much cleaner finished appearance.
There was also the need to maintain a sense of openness within the room. The floating cabinet and carefully chosen colour palette helped achieve this without sacrificing storage.
The Finished Result
The completed media wall has transformed a previously unused section of wall into a stylish focal point. The combination of textured finishes, warm lighting and clean architectural lines creates a modern yet comfortable living space.
